An Opportunity to Prove God to the World
1 Peter 3:15
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Would anyone believe in God based on the way you trust Him?
Are you prepared to give a reason for the hope that is in you?
Not in word alone, but in action?
The COVID-19 virus has begun to spread across the US, and no one can seem to tell us how bad it’s going to get.
People are beginning to panic.
Shelves are being cleared at the supermarkets of sanitizer and hand soap.
Extreme precaution at every turn,
and you can feel the unease each day as the media feeds on the nations fear.
So, this is the time when we will discover who they are who truly trust in the word of God.
This is the season of our lives when we find out if we are truly believers, or just cheerleaders for Christ until the game seems to be at a loss.
Christians, we have an opportunity now to display the reality of God and the faith He has given us.
We can rest in knowing that there actually is no chaos; that God is in control always, and that we believe Him to be our Rock and Fortress.
We get the chance to prove God.
When others look at us, will they see men and women who believe in a life after this one far greater than here and now?
Will we display the assurance that, whatever happens, our Father in Heaven has this in His plan?
Will our lives be a testimony against all we have said about who God is?
Or will we plant our feet firmly and “be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication” make our requests known to God and then live in the “peace that passes all understanding” that He gives to guard our hearts (Philippians 4:6)!?!
In a world that believes in chance, happenstance and chaos, we as believers have an amazing opportunity to display a calm resolve as we rest in an Author, greater than ourselves, who is writing out our stories, numbering our days and working all things together for our good.
The way we, as Christians, live now will give the world cause to believe,
or solidify their doubt.
